Privacy Policy

Commit Happens collects only the information needed to provide website monitoring, crawl analysis, AI recommendations, account access, and billing-related services. We are not in the business of being creepy. We prefer useful over invasive.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect:

  • Account information, such as name and email address
  • Login and authentication information, including when you use email/password, Sign in with Apple, or Google Sign-In
  • Apple or Google account identifiers provided by those sign-in services (we do not receive your Apple or Google password)
  • Websites or URLs you submit for monitoring or crawling
  • Crawl results and site health data
  • Uptime check results
  • Visitor analytics from the Commit Happens tracker you install on your sites (for example page views, sessions, events, and related technical signals)
  • Google Search Console data you connect (such as property, queries, clicks, impressions, and indexing-related metrics authorized by you)
  • AI recommendation inputs and outputs
  • Billing and subscription information handled through Apple In-App Purchase or payment processors such as Stripe
  • Technical data such as IP address, browser or app type, device signals, logs, and usage events

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide and operate Commit Happens
  • Monitor websites you submit
  • Generate crawl insights and recommendations
  • Display dashboard results
  • Process subscriptions and payments
  • Improve product performance and reliability
  • Prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized activity
  • Provide support

3. Website Data

When you submit a website, Commit Happens may collect publicly available data from that site, including page titles, descriptions, headings, status codes, links, and other crawl-related signals.

You are responsible for ensuring you have permission to submit websites for monitoring or analysis.

4. AI Processing

Commit Happens may send relevant website data, crawl findings, or page content signals to AI providers to generate recommendations.

We aim to limit AI processing to what is necessary for the product feature.

Do not submit sensitive, confidential, regulated, or private information unless you are authorized to do so.

5. Billing Data

On the website and Android app, payments may be processed by third-party providers such as Stripe.

On the iOS app, digital subscriptions are purchased through Apple In-App Purchase; Apple processes payment and provides transaction receipts we use to activate your plan.

Commit Happens does not store full payment card numbers on its own servers.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Commit Happens may use cookies or similar technologies for login sessions, preferences, analytics, and security.

7. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party services for:

  • Hosting
  • Database storage
  • Authentication
  • Payments
  • AI processing
  • Crawling
  • Analytics
  • Email or notifications

These services may process data according to their own privacy policies.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user data.

No system is perfectly secure, because the internet was apparently assembled during a thunderstorm. You are responsible for using strong passwords and protecting your account.

9. Data Retention

We retain information as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain business records.

When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify associated account data as described on our Account Deletion page. Some records (for example payment-processor history, security logs, or legally required backups) may be retained for a limited period.

10. Account Deletion

Signed-in users can permanently delete their account under Settings → Account → Delete account, or by emailing us as described on /account-deletion.

Deleting your account removes dashboard access and associated account data subject to the retention limits above.

11. Your Choices

You may request help with account information, support issues, data-related questions, or account deletion by contacting: hello@commithappens.com

12. Children’s Privacy

Commit Happens is not intended for children under 13.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
