Account Deletion

Commit Happens users can request deletion of their account and associated account data. This page explains the steps to request deletion, the types of data deleted, and the limited cases where some records may be retained.

1. How to Request Deletion

To request deletion of your Commit Happens account, email commithappens@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account.

Use the subject line: Account deletion request.

If you cannot email from the account address, include enough information for us to verify that you own the account before we delete data.

2. Data We Delete

After we verify your request, we will delete or de-identify account data associated with your Commit Happens account, including:

  • Account profile information
  • Saved website or domain records
  • Dashboard data associated with your account
  • Monitoring configuration
  • Crawl and site health records tied to your account

3. Data We May Keep

Some data may be retained when needed for legal, security, fraud prevention, billing, tax, dispute resolution, or abuse-prevention purposes.

Payment records may be retained by third-party payment processors such as Stripe according to their own legal and compliance obligations.

Backups, logs, and security records may persist for a limited period before they are deleted through normal retention cycles.

4. Timing

We aim to process verified account deletion requests within 30 days.

Some retained records may remain for longer if required by law, billing records, security investigations, or backup retention schedules.

5. What Happens After Deletion

Once your account is deleted, you may lose access to your dashboard, reports, monitoring history, saved sites, and related Commit Happens services.

If you have an active paid subscription, cancel it before requesting deletion or tell us in your deletion request that you also need help with billing cancellation.
