Account Deletion

Commit Happens users can request deletion of their account and associated account data. This page explains the steps to request deletion, the types of data deleted, and the limited cases where some records may be retained.

1. How to Request Deletion

Signed-in users can permanently delete their account in the app or website: Settings → Account → Delete account. You must type DELETE to confirm.

You can also email hello@commithappens.com from the email address associated with your account with the subject line: Account deletion request.

If you cannot email from the account address, include enough information for us to verify that you own the account before we delete data.

If you use Sign in with Apple, deletion removes your Commit Happens account data; you may still manage your Apple ID separately in Apple settings.

2. Data We Delete

After we verify your request, we will delete or de-identify account data associated with your Commit Happens account, including:

  • Account profile information
  • Saved website or domain records
  • Dashboard data associated with your account
  • Monitoring configuration
  • Crawl and site health records tied to your account

3. Data We May Keep

Some data may be retained when needed for legal, security, fraud prevention, billing, tax, dispute resolution, or abuse-prevention purposes.

Payment records may be retained by Apple, Stripe, or other payment processors according to their own legal and compliance obligations.

Backups, logs, and security records may persist for a limited period before they are deleted through normal retention cycles.

4. Timing

We aim to process verified account deletion requests within 30 days.

Some retained records may remain for longer if required by law, billing records, security investigations, or backup retention schedules.

5. What Happens After Deletion

Once your account is deleted, you may lose access to your dashboard, reports, monitoring history, saved sites, and related Commit Happens services.

Deleting your Commit Happens account does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription or a Stripe subscription. Cancel in Apple ID subscription settings or Stripe billing management to stop future charges.

If you have an active paid subscription and need help, tell us in your deletion request or use Manage Subscription before deleting.
